Exchange Students

We have had the pleasure in keeping foreign exchange students this past year. What an awesome opportunity we have had to share the good news of Christ with those from around the world. They have come to Edmond to learn English through a language program. I always feel bad for these students, usually being their first time to the US and what do they get to experience ....Oklahoma. Don't get me wrong, I love it here but I could think of a million other places to take someone who has never experienced our beautiful country.

This past Saturday we said goodbye to our 5th student. Rigo stayed with us the longest-6 months. He is from Panama and came from a nice quiet home into the Owen chaos. From playing soccer with the kids to watching scary movies with Kelan he quickly became part of the family.

We had planned a dinner for Rigo the night before he left and gave him a memory book from his time with us. Our evening quickly turned to tears all around the table. What a joy it has been to have Rigo in our home- we will miss him so much!

This is our 100th #sundaywiththeowens picture. I think it perfectly represents Justin's Sunday mornings- starbucks, preaching and kids underfoot.

Kelan was away in Texas attending the Labor Day meeting with friends. Clearly he did a great job of representing the Owen family!

That picture reminded me of his father from years ago.

 Like father like son.
